Like other popular online slots from ELK Studios and other creators, the Dead Man's Gold slot does not feature paylines. Winning formations are instead created whenever three or more matching payout symbols land on adjacent reels, starting from the leftmost one. 

There are 4,096 winning combinations available initially, but this number can grow rapidly through the slot’s Avalanche Feature. 

There are a total of 12 payout symbols in the game. Pirate symbols are the most valuable, paying between 1.5x and 5x when combinations of between three and six symbols land on the grid. Eye, start, and moon symbols provide the next-best payouts, with respective maximum payouts of 3x, 2.5x, and 2x.

Big Symbols and Wild Symbols 

Three types of big symbols can land on the grid on any spin. Super symbols have a 2x2 size, whereas Mega and Epic symbols cover 3x3 and 4x4 respectively. 

Wild symbols substitute standard symbols to create or develop winning formations. These symbols can land on any spin and have regular sizes as well as Big Symbol sizes. 

Avalanche Feature 

Whenever a winning combination is formed, winning symbols pay and then disappear from the Dead Man's Gold grid. The slot expands to accommodate an additional row, filling all empty spaces with new symbols, thus increasing the number of possible winning combinations. 

The Avalanche Feature can be retriggered during the same round. Each retrigger adds an additional row, until the grid gets eight rows with 262,144 ways to win. 

Target Symbols and Cannonballs 

Target symbols can land across the grid during the Dead Man's Gold base and bonus rounds. If one or more cannonballs also land on the grid, they are loaded onto the canons and shot at the target symbols. 

Shooting target symbols transforms them into wilds and blows up all non-winning standard symbols around them. 

If the target symbol has a golden emblem on it, the base multiplier will also increase. 

Bottomless Chest 

Whenever there are any empty spaces on the Dead Man's Gold slot grid, the Bottomless Chest Feature may trigger. Through this feature, empty positions are randomly filled with high-value, wild, or cannonball symbols. 

Dead Man's Gold Free Drops 

Landing between three and six bonus symbols across the Dead Man's Gold grid triggers the bonus round. You’ll get between 10 and 25 free drops during which target symbols and multiplier target symbols become sticky until they are blown up.
